From a needle to a locomotive, almost everything comes from China, but a significant portion of it originates in just one city: Yiwu. With the addition of a new wing, “the largest market in the world” has suddenly gotten richer.
Yiwu, which has 1.4 million residents, is a modest city by Chinese standards but is exceptionally significant on the international stage since it is the location of the massive shopping complex Yiwu Market.
It is a “market” that serves as the greatest global marketplace for modestly priced goods, drawing buyers from all over the world. Traders from all seven continents visit this market to purchase items in large quantities to use for later.

Spread over an area of four million square meters, the market is divided into a total of five districts with 2,000 different categories of goods. They are spread over as many as 75,000 shops, and are exported daily all over the world in roughly 1,500 shipping containers.

This is true, he points out, especially for those whose focus is the transition to renewable energy, which is also an indispensable segment of the future.
“Due to the global interest in renewable sources and energy savings, a new facility was built within the Yiwu Market where an entire floor is dedicated to this program. Surely one of the most interesting products there are solar panels and inverters. There are plenty of them and they can be found at favorable prices. prices,” explained Šarić, whose company, in addition to its headquarters in China, also has one in Vitez.
By the way, the new wing of Yiwu Market is connected by corridors to the original building of District 2. This district itself was put into circulation on October 22, 2004, and it is a five-story building with an area of more than 600,000 square meters.
There are more than 10,000 shop fronts on the first three floors. On the first floor are the industries of suitcases and bags, umbrellas and rainwear, as well as plastic and shopping bags and packages. On the second are hardware tools and accessories, locks and electrical products. The third floor is reserved for household appliances, electronics and telecommunications, watches and kitchen and sanitary equipment, while on the fourth you can find shopping centers.

Banks, restaurants, and telecom firms are all located in District 2, as well as the Best Western Ocean Premium Hotel, which is located right in the middle of the district.
